Youth Theatre counts down to Christmas The New Vic's Senior Youth Theatre is set to mark the countdown to Christmas in style with a performance to remember at Newcastle town centre’s festive lights switch-on. Shoppers in the town’s Roebuck Centre will be in for a treat on Wednesday 28 November when a group of 13 budding actors will be performing Stuck!, a short piece which tells the stories of four characters and their experiences of the festive period. The 16 to 18-year-olds have spent recent weeks devising the piece and getting to grips with puppetry skills which they will showcase during the performance. Kat Hughes, New Vic Youth Theatre Director, said: “Stuck! is a real opportunity to see the hard work and talent of the local young people involved in the New Vic’s Youth Theatre programme. “It is important for us to offer performance opportunities to our Youth Theatre group outside of the New Vic and in the community so they can show what they have been learning - Stuck! will do exactly that.” Stuck! will be performed several times from 5pm in the Roebuck Centre on Wednesday 28 November. |
