Halloween comes early to Basford’s theatre-in-the-round as New Vic favourite ‘Eric’ brings a new show full of ghoulish treats and crowd-pleasing retro tunes.
Eric’s Monster Mash, performed from Monday 22 August to Saturday 3 September, sees popular character Eric finally give in and take partner Bev on holiday, after months of being nagged. She’s looking forward to a week’s all-inclusive somewhere sunny but Eric has found a cheaper option – a week in Transylvania!
Eric and Bev soon find out that things are not as they seem in their holiday retreat. Especially when on arrival they discover another family – under the name Addams – are booked into the house at the same time, and they don’t have any intention of leaving!
Sharing the stage with a host of spooky characters, Eric’s Monster Mash is filled with your favourite characters, lots of laughs and all the sensational ’60s tunes that make an Eric show the best party night out for summer.
Producer David Graham, who plays Eric, said: “These days it’s usually Eric and Bev who are the leading characters in any Eric show. However, this time we encounter the Addams Family who might be intending to take centre stage but don’t worry, no-one can upstage Eric! Oh, and there will be the return of an old friend in this one as well. Don’t miss it!”
Eric and his pals will also be back for the festive season with Eric’s Christmas Turkey from Monday 28 November to Saturday 10 December. It’s a perfect way to start your festive celebrations as Eric attempts to make his local Amateur Dramatic Society’s Christmas production a success – with predictably haphazard results!
Eric’s Monster Mash will take to the stage at the New Vic from Monday 22 August to Saturday 3 September. Tickets are on sale now, priced from £21.00. For more information and to book call the Box Office on 01782 717 962 or online here.
