A week-long theatrical adventure, perfect for ages 10-15 years.
Our ‘Play In A Week’ summer programme is an excellent way for children to experience theatre-making. Working with our Youth Theatre Director and other members of the New Vic team, participants will have the chance to (literally!) create a play in a week!
Working with a brand new script written by New Vic Youth Theatre Director Amy Fletcher (Youth Theatre Director), participants will explore the story of The Island.
During a hot and sunny day at the height of summer, a group of friends take a boat to a nearby island where they find a time-capsule which details all the adventures had by the children who visited the island before them.
During the week, the group will explore the characters and the story and decide how they’d like to bring it to life on stage. They’ll then cast the show from the group, create the setting and rehearse, before sharing their performance for family and friends at the end of the week.
A joyful way to spend a week of their summer holidays, this is a perfect experience for young people!
