New Vic Borderlines have marked the countdown to Christmas spreading festive cheer at Newcastle-under-Lyme’s lights switch-on.
Borderlines were joined by community groups to lead a festive parade featuring a host of decorated trolleys filled to the brim with donations for local food banks
Following the theme of Tis the Season of Goodwill, the groups decorated 17 trolleys, which were kindly lent by Goose Street Morrisons, taking inspiration from their favourite Christmas carols.
The procession of trolleys were accompanied by carollers and the 1st St Andrews Porthill Scouts
Pippa Church, New Vic Borderlines Practitioner, said: “The parade was a huge success, we had a trolley full of donations for the food bank and 17 incredibly decorated trolleys. It brought together so many people from different communities who might not have met under other circumstances.
“There was a great atmosphere all day and everyone involved really enjoyed themselves, there was even talk about the trolleys people want to decorate for next year’s parade.”
