Performed by Clare Summerskill and Artemis Theatre Company

In the New Vic Studio

An inspirational new play about the struggles and triumphs of lesbians and gay men who have fled to the UK from persecution. What happens when they get to the country that they hope will offer refuge? Who is welcome, who is locked up, and who is deported?

Real-life stories of LGBT asylum seekers brought to the stage in this brand new verbatim production.

6.00pm, Thurs 9 June:   £12.50 / £10.00 cons
2.00pm, Fri 10 June:  £17.50 / £15.00 cons (includes workshop)

To book, call Box Office: 01782 717962

Previous productions by Artemis have received critical acclaim:

The New Statesman described Gateway to Heaven as “An immaculately performed play about the history of lesbians and gays, taken from the experiences and memories of ordinary people.” And Hearing Voices, based on the stories of mental health service users, was hailed by The Wolverhampton Express and Star, as “Sensitive subject is a triumph on stage! On the whole, a difficult piece to fault”.

Artemis have created another faultless piece about a highly topical issue that will move to audience to tears and laughter, and allow them a glimpse into the private, undocumented and often unreported lives of those who come to the UK to seek asylum purely on account of their sexual orientation.
