Broadway beckons for New Vic Theatre as hit production heads to New York

4th April 2019

The New Vic Theatre is set to light up New York’s theatre district this summer as their hugely successful production of Around The World In 80 Days heads to Broadway for the theatre’s first ever international tour.

Heading to New York’s New Victory Theatre on 42nd Street, the theatre will revive the much-loved production for a special 10 performance run alongside partners Kenny Wax Family Entertainment and Simon Friend, before heading down the coast to Florida.

New Vic Artistic Director Theresa Heskins has reassembled the cast of the theatre’s most recent version of Jules Verne’s epic, action-packed caper to delight New York audiences.

Reprising their roles on stage are Pushpinder Chani as Mr Naidu; Kirsten Foster as Mrs Aouda; Matthew Ganley as Colonel Proctor; Dennis Herdman as Inspector Fix; Michael Hugo as Passepartout; Nyron Levy as Captain Speedy; Joey Parsad as Miss Singh; Andrew Pollard as Phileas Fogg and Stefan Ruiz in Ensemble roles.

Director Theresa Heskins said: Nothing makes me happier than knowing that the New Vic is creating world class theatre for local audiences. And now we’ve got the chance to go and tell the rest of the world about the special place we call home.”

Prior to their international tour dates, Around The World In 80 Days will have a limited UK tour in April, stopping off at Liverpool Playhouse and Salisbury Playhouse, before opening in New York on Friday 10 May.
