Last month New Vic Borderlines hosted a fun day for all ages aimed at creating peace through art, music and dance.
Ahead of United Nations’ World Peace Day on 21 September 2024, the event promoted peace and positivity through activities including tile making workshops, drumming performances from the University of the Third Age (U3A), drop-ins with eco artist Ruby Sufi in the theatre’s peace garden, graffiti art in its woodland area, and more.
Now, to coincide with this year’s World Peace Day, Borderlines join with Keele Institute for Social Inclusion, and Nobel Peace Prize nominee The Iraq Body Count, to host a Creating Peace Conference at Keele University on Friday 20 September, and at the New Vic on Saturday 21 September.
The conference will promote peace, harmony and understanding among individuals and communities and will feature a new documentary drama piece Voices From as well as speeches from a range of guest speakers.
