Creative People and Places: Info Evening for Newcastle-under-Lyme Community Groups

30th January 2019

New Vic Theatre and Appetite are inviting community-led groups based in or working in Newcastle-under-Lyme to learn more about Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme and the opportunity for existing CPP programme, Appetite to expand its exciting work into the Newcastle-under-Lyme area.

We are inviting representatives from all types of community groups based in Newcastle to join us at an Information Evening to find out more about how you could be involved in the programme.

What is Creative People and Places?
Creative People and Places is initiated and funded by Arts Council England through the National Lottery and is about more people taking the lead in choosing, creating and taking part in art experiences in the places where they live. There are 21 independent projects, each located in an area where people have traditionally had fewer opportunities to get involved with the arts. Creative People and Places projects have reached over 2 million people, 91% of who do not regularly engage in the arts. Find out more here: www.creativepeopleplaces.org.uk

What is Appetite?
Appetite is a CPP programme led by New Vic Theatre which aims to get more people to experience and be inspired by arts. Its work since 2013 in Stoke-on-Trent has seen it bring spectacular family-friendly arts events to the city’s streets, parks, hospitals and more. More than 450,000 people have enjoyed a feast of world-class arts including events like The Enchanted Chandelier and Museum of the Moon and festivals like The Big Feast in the City Centre. Their work has also included contemporary day of circus The Homecoming in Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Centre. Find out more about them here: www.appetitestoke.co.uk
