Stephen Joseph Award winners 2023

This year Borderlines‘ ‘sustained ground-breaking work in inclusive and socially relevant theatre, created with marginalized communities and reaching audiences beyond the mainstream’ was recognised through the programme winning the Stephen Joseph Award 2023 from the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT). The team celebrated during the prize ceremony at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London’s West End on Friday 8 December.

Strathcross reunite for celebration of Newcastle-under-Lyme’s 850th anniversary

2023 saw the Strathcross company of adults with learning difficulties reunite for the first time since before the pandemic to perform in celebration of the 850th anniversary of Newcastle-under-Lyme receiving its royal charter.

Ukrainian families perform Vertep

Other notable Borderlines performances this year included Ukrainian families from the Borderlines Sunflowers cultural café group performing a ‘Vertep’ (nativity) at Newcastle Congregational Church over the festive period which was enjoyed by friends and family.
