16th July 2024

Last week, the New Vic partnered with Appetite to deliver a weeklong series of performances and creative activities to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month. The programme, Sensasian, was created in collaboration with the local South Asian community and offered an exciting range of entertainment for all ages and backgrounds.

The programme, presented at New Vic, included the Desi Central comedy night featuring Sukh Ojla, Nabil Abdulrashid, Tommy Sandhu and Raj Poojara; music and dance in Roshni by the Sonia Sabri Company and Britain’s Got Talent finalist, magician Ben Hart presenting the Indian-inspired Jadoo. The series of events concluded with a free Family Fun Day of activities including dance, music, Bollywood film and henna tattooing. Audiences also tucked into a variety of South Asian inspired food on offer throughout the week.
