New Vic Borderlines is inviting young people to get involved in its ever-popular free Play In A Week project over the summer holidays.
The theme of this year’s Borderlines’ Play In A Week, taking place from Tuesday 29 August to Friday 1 September from 10.30am to 2,30pm, is Act Now! The four-day programme is the perfect opportunity for young people aged 10 to 16 to stretch their performance muscles just before they return to school.
Act Now! explores how we share the world we live in, looking at ways we can live better including examining environmental issues and ways of saving the planet.
The project will feature elements of puppetry, music and dance, and participation in Play In A Week will lead to an opportunity to join New Vic Borderlines’ Young People’s Theatre Company which meets regularly at the New Vic.
New Vic Borderlines Director Susan Moffat said: “It’s great to be able to welcome more young people to the New Vic and also introduce some new faces into our existing groups. We can’t wait to see what incredible ideas they will no doubt come up with as part of this always exciting project.”
There are 30 places available on the project. For more information and to book, email amahmood@newvictheatre.org.uk or call 01782 381368.
