UPDATE ON OUR CHRISTMAS SHOW COPPELIA – A MYSTERY

27th November 2020

Yesterday’s announcement that Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent have been placed in Tier 3 unfortunately means that we will not be able to stage our production of Coppelia – A Mystery as planned this December. And because we want you to be able to experience this magical show in our trademark New Vic style, where a live audience is very much integral to our work, we have made a decision that we will postpone the show and reschedule it to take place at Easter next year.

Our Box Office team will be contacting all customers with tickets already booked for the production to talk to them about their options, and we hope that everyone who wanted to join us this Christmas, will join us for the experience at Easter.

2020 has proven to be a tough year for everyone and we know this news will disappoint many of you, but it’s not all bad news!

Our craft and production teams have been working hard creating a spectacular set, costumes and props to create the world of Coppelia. We’re going to invite you into this magical Christmas world via a digital Treasure Trail. You’ll have the opportunity to see inside the shop windows and get a taste of the story before we bring the show fully to life at Easter. Keep your eyes peeled on our website!

At the New Vic, we are committed to creating distinctive theatre in distinctive spaces, for audiences of all ages to be inspired and entertained – and we will carry on working on our plans for the future so that we can be here when audiences can come back to us.
